2- Read alone early morning / Late Night, personal choice.

3- Do not apply ratta

4- Save video lectures on mobile so that you can watch lectures whenever you want in your free time.

5- Go to campus only one month before the exam if it is very necessary

6- No need to memorize the whole lecture, just try to keep the main points of the lecture in mind or Make Notes.

7- (Exercise, GDB, Quiz) Be sure to submit but don't waste so much time on them that lectures are left.

Important Instructions:

•Don’t copy image directly from paint. Instead, first copy the image into MS Word, thenpaste it in the Exam Software.

•You can save data up to a maximum of 2MB size in a single descriptive question.

•For larger images, save as monochrome bitmap image in MS paint, then paste it intoexam software.

Warning:

In order to avoid any kind of data loss or other problem, take care of the following:

Recommendations for (GDB) for Virtual University Students - VUMBA2009

GDB's is graded as 5 marks out of 100. so if we compare our assignments marks. They are also 5 marks. So see how much effort we do though out the semester for Assignments just for 5 marks. We do not consecrate on these 5 marks. Also quiz contain 5 marks. So these are total 15 marks. Out of 100. so to get full marks we should consecrate on it. Rest of the marks are 35% for midterm and 50% for the final term. Gdb is (graded discussion board) which is asked from student to write on his view on the given topic. The lines and words are mention. So it is a kind of summary. So do not copy it from some website or from your friend. Try to write it in your own words. That’s the only way to get maximum marks. Because it’s the student own words. Which are required by the teacher. So you should work on it. Here are some recommendations to write Gdb’s.

1. Read the topic carefully.
2. After reading ask your self truly about the required situation.
3. Try to read the discussions from different forums or research papers and articles which
would defiantly be a great help.
4. The main topic grip is necessary to write it in your own words. If you don’t have then it would be a problem.

How to attempt paper from VUMBA2009

Before Examination:

- Lack of practice and preparation is a major reason for students not doing well in examinations. Here, we highlight to you the major points that you should take note before any examination.

- It is important that you clarify all your doubts and questions about a particular topic with your tutor, teachers or peers before the exam.

- Practice past year and examination papers from other schools if possible. These resources may not always be available so you have to source for them. 

- Always memorize all important formulas, principles, questions and even solutions. During examinations, they should be at your fingertips. 

- Nobody knows what is going to come out during exams. But we should always pay attention to popular and important questions (VUMBA2009). 

During Examination

Proper planning is a major key to score As during exams. A well designed exam paper should consist of 

50% easy questions 

40% moderate 

10% difficult (specially designed so that your teacher can tell who the hardworking students are. =) 

- Before you even write anything, always take at least 5 minutes to look through the whole paper and determine the difficulty level. Allocate sufficient time for each section too.

- Attempt easy questions first – This makes perfect sense since an average student should be able to attempt the 50% easy questions. Leaving the 10% questions blank will not cause you to fail miserably (VUMBA2009).

- Allocate appropriate time for each question. Very often, students spent too much time on something very difficult, and ended up not attempting the ones that they can do. A general guideline is to spend the amount of time according to how many marks the question carries. A 20 marks question probably deserves 1/5 of your time and attention (VUMBA2009).

- Always check for careless mistakes. We need not elaborate further. Careless mistakes should always be avoided at all cost since they are mostly likely the questions you can attempt.

After examination

It is always advisable to rest for 6 to 8 hours before preparing for the next subject again. After a Maths paper, your mind is probably full of equations and you will most likely not able to study anything else (VUMBA2009).

How to Plan Study - VUMBA2009

For most students, the most difficult part of any exam is the actual studying. Typically, there is so much material to study that students begin to procrastinate, putting off studying until the night before. After a late-night cram session, students arrive at the exam tired and feeling dazed by the sheer amount of information they've tried to absorb. The easiest way to study for an exam, and avoid the cram sessions, is to make a study plan.

Group or solo? - The first step to making a study plan is to decide whether you want to study alone or in a group. When planning study times and organizing study sessions for a group, the needs and schedules of the group are a factor. As a result, you must decide whether you will be studying with a group before continuing with making a study plan.

Time - There are two time elements that are crucial to an effective study plan. The first time element to consider is the amount of time you have until the exam, while the second is the amount of time during the day that you can set aside for studying. Try to study for at least two hours per day for major exams, like entrance exams, and at least thirty minutes per day for lecture exams. If you are limited on the amount of time until the exam, such as one week or less, then you will need to increase your daily study time. Set up a schedule with clearly marked study times for each day.

Content - The content to be studied depends on the type of exam. For placement exams, entrance exams, and licensure exams, there are no specific textbooks or prior lecture notes. There are, however, commercially available review guides, and textbooks and lecture notes from past classes often contain a great deal of material that will help with the exam. By looking at the content areas of the test, you can determine what readily available material to study. For course-based exams, textbooks and lecture notes are both ideal study content. Break the content into chunks, and then assign specific chunks to the study times that you have listed on your schedule.

Chronological - Assign chunks of material to study times in chronological order. In other words, study the material in the order that it was presented. Remember to allot more time for studying the most important information.

Critical first - Assign study times so the most critical method is covered first, and then work down to the least important information. Allow more time for covering the most critical information. If you are having trouble with the most important information, re-assign time from the least important information.

The Studying Process

Once you have set up study times and assigned material to them, it is time to study. When reading textbooks, take notes on the information. With lecture notes, write notes in the margin. Use a highlighter. The idea is to make key information readily available for review. In addition, making notes and looking up ideas to supplement notes reinforces the material in your mind. Quiz yourself as you finish each area you are studying to determine what you still need to review.

Study plans are as unique as the person making them. The most effective study plan will take into account your schedule, the times each day when you are able to study without interruption, and the amount of material that needs reviewed. By spreading out the study times and breaking up the information, you make it easier for to absorb and retain the necessary material before the exam.

Its now on Beta version means just for Trial Purpose after that Its permanent. 

MDB. Moderated Discussion Board. 

In this You can ask questions from your instructors and get answers. Please be respectful in choosing your words to the teacher. Be concise and to the point. 

GDB. Graded Discussion Board. 

This is used for the test through discussion on a specific topic by the instructor/ teacher. It’s graded and must be answered in given time. Answer must be as per the prescribed rules to the instructor. Never copy and paste from here. It can earn you and the originator both Zero marks for forgery.

Online Quiz.  

It’s the most important activity. All subjects will have mostly 4 quiz in total, 1-2 before and rest after Mid Term. It’s graded and you have specific time to answer the questions. Here some help is also rendered by us, on line, for which we shall guide you later. 

Assignments.  

These are also graded but some time they are non-graded. Non graded may/ or may not be submitted. But graded must be submitted in time. Never copy and paste from here. It can earn you and the originator both Zero marks for forgery.

Fee.  

Please submit your fee in time. Non payment in time would cause extra amount and also freeze of VULMS which also put you in problems as missing some of the assignments/ GDBs/ Quiz etc, thus you face the music.

Profile Update.  

Please do update profile like address and contact number etc.

Now the Study it Self. Well you all must have your books, with you. In CS101, Learn HTML, JAVA, etc, it’s important for all students. This will be required till final exams too. Rest all is easy and you all can do it...

Style of Papers.  

Please remember that here almost 75 % papers is composed of MCQs and rest based on short and long questions. So remember that Mid/Final Term Papers are almost on similar lines.

Taking lectures.  

Each lecture is Approximately 55 mins, and if you have time then you must study through it, or at least listen/ watch some of these which you find difficult. These all are available on http://www.youtube.com/ where you can watch and download also. For downloading you must have Real Player 11 Gold. It will enable you to download when start watching or live watching not required Real Player 11 Gold.

The study Plan.  

One requires average 30 mins time to completely study one simple lecture, or max 40-45 mins. So read and high light important lines as they come in MCQs.

Overall, the study is not difficult. Please go through all handouts carefully. All questions come from the same.
