The Virtual University of Pakistan, Department of Statistics, Faculty of Science and Technology is organizing an online workshop on “Visual Data Analysis”.

Data presentation and persuasion are among the top ten most in-demand skills, according to LinkedIn. Data visualization is truly important for any career; from teachers trying to make sense of student test results to computer scientists trying to develop the next big thing in artificial intelligence, it’s hard to imagine a field where people don’t need to better understand data. Whether you work in finance, marketing, tech, education, HR, medical, or anything else, you need to visualize data.

The main objective of this workshop is to train the participants to explore and use the latest tools to improve their data analysis visualization skills.

The Department of Management Sciences, Virtual University of Pakistan has organized a "2-day Training Workshop on Developing Theoretical Framework in Research Studies & Systematic Literature Review (Citations Based Bibliometrics Analysis) Using R-Studio Biblioshiny and VOS-Viewer Software". The development of a theoretical framework for a research study is a skill that researchers need to learn and develop. In addition, Literature Review (LR) in any field provides an overview, arguments, knowledge, research methodologies, and gaps from the current literature. In the field of Literature review, systematic literature review (SLR) is an emerging trend and every field of knowledge is now directed towards SLR.

Systematic literature review (SLR) classifies, selects, and critically evaluates the current literature to find the answers to clearly formulated research questions. The faculty from all fields and research students essentially need to learn the skill of SLR as the leading journals are accepting papers based on SLR. R-Studio Biblioshiny and VOS-Viewer Software are also skill additions for participants.

This workshop aims at sharing the significance of SLR and protocols related to conducting SLR. After attempting this workshop the participants will be able to write SLR that may result in publication.

Who can participate?
Any student of Virtual University having interest in entrepreneurship or business creation or student who:
has a business idea and wanted to refine it
is planning to start his/her own business
is currently running a business
had started a business in past but failed to conduct it successfully and wanted to look at the idea with different perspective

Student can be from any field (Life Sciences, Computer Sciences, Business Administration, Social Sciences and Arts etc.)
Student of any Semester can participate

Directorate of Quality Enhancement (DQE) organized a "One Day Training Workshop on “Project Preparation, Monitoring and Evaluation” for its academic and administrative staff on September 21, 2017 at Virtual University Head Office. The workshop was chaired by Dr. Naveed A Malik, (Rector Virtual University of Pakistan). Dr. Naveed A Malik highlighted the purpose of organizing this workshop. He emphasized that professional development of faculty and staff is a continuous process.
Dr. Muhammad Mohsin Javed Director, Directorate of Quality Enhancement (DQE), Dr. Muhammad Tariq Pervez Assistant Professor of Department of Bioinformatics, Mr. Sarfraz Ahmad Awan, Assistant Professor of Computer Sciences Department and Mr. Ali Abbas Lecturer from Management Sciences Department, of Virtual University of Pakistan were the resource persons in the workshop.
The resource persons delivered a comprehensive & thought provoking lecture Project Preparation, Monitoring and Evaluation and its application in public sector.
