Blocking of VULMS Accounts for Spring 2023

It is informed that the LMS accounts of all such students who have yet to pay their outstanding dues shall be blocked on May 26, 2023. Students with blocked accounts cannot make date sheets for Mid Term Exams for Spring'2023 semester. It is therefore advised to clear all outstanding dues at the earliest to avoid any inconvenience.

Announcement for Course Selection - Spring 2023 Semester

Spring 2023 Semester
(Semester/ Classes Commencement Date: Monday, April 17, 2023)

 

The link for “Course Selection” will be active/ available with effect from Tuesday, April 11, 2023, under the “Student Services” tab in VULMS. The students are advised to log in to their VULMS account and select their course(s) immediately or before the semester commencement date.  However, the last date to add/drop course(s) will be Friday, May 05, 2023. The tuition fee voucher issued after this date shall not be revised.

Important Notes:

1. Newly admitted students, enrolled in the 1^st semester of their respective study program, are given pre-selected courses. However, students enrolled through BS Entry Route may select their courses, accordingly.

2. Existing/ continuing students must make their course selections as mentioned above. Failing to enroll in any course(s) he/she will be treated as an “INACTIVE STUDENT” during the semester and a fine will also be imposed under “Semester Freeze Rules”.

3. Course/ workload (Credit Hours) limits have been prescribed and published separately for each study program in “Course Selection Rules” given in “Student Handbook”. Students must read the rules carefully before making their course selection.

Guidelines/Explanations:

§  Students are expected to follow the “semester-wise study scheme” of their respective study program so that their scholarship eligibility may not be affected (See Scholarship Rules). 

§  Continuously enrolling in maximum course/workload in each semester does not mean that a study program can be completed earlier than its minimum prescribed residential requirement.

4. Course Pre-requisite rule requires enrollment and qualifying of Basic/Introductory courses before enrolling in an advanced level course. Therefore, said rule must be followed and given due care while making course selections.

5. Students enrolled during Spring 2018 / Fall 2018 in 2-year Master/Associate Degree Programs and 1.5year B.Ed programs have availed the maximum time duration and are NOT allowed to make their course selection.

6. Students with blocked VULMS (due to non-payment of fee) will not be allowed to make their course selection unless they deposit their outstanding dues and get their LMS accounts active from the Accounts Department.

7. Grade Improvement Policy A student can anytime improve a course in which his/her obtained grade is less than “B”. In such a case he/she has to repeat the improvement course(s) in the forthcoming semester(s), in which that course is offered.

Guidelines/Explanations:

·         Failed course(s) can be repeated until qualified.

·         Improved/better grades in a course will substitute/replace the previous/lower grade and eventually increase the CGPA.  However, in case of non-improvement of grade, the previous better grade will stand and count towards CGPA calculation.

ADMISSIONS OPEN – FALL 2022 SESSION

The Virtual University of Pakistan has announced admissions for the Fall 2022 session in Diploma, undergraduate programs (2-year Associate Degree, 4 years BS) / graduate program (MS in Computer Science only) Specialization Certificate, and short certificate courses with effect from Monday, August 22, 2022. The last date to apply for Admission is September 30, 2022, for detail visit https://www.vu.edu.pk/Admissions/AdmissionProcedure.aspx .

1. How to Apply

1. The applicant shall use his/her own CNIC/B-Form number and email address for registration of application in the Login/Sign-up/admission portal.
2. The applicants may apply for Admission through Online Application System from the Virtual University website; applicants are encouraged to view the admission video before applying for Admission https://www.vu.edu.pk/Apply/Admissions.aspx 
3. The applicants are required to scan and attach the complete readable requisite/required documents with Online Admission Application Form. The uploaded Photograph of the applicant should be as per the sample.
4. The applicant is responsible for the following:

1. To fill out the online admission form and upload requisite documents in complete and visible form.
2. To submit a hard copy Admission Form along with requisite document mentioned on admission form at respective selected Campus located in different cities. However, Homebased/Overseas students will courier/dispatch their admission form to the nearest VU own Campus or VU Head Office, Lahore.
3. Write Admission Form No. on each document. 

5. The fee will be deposited at the designated Banks/Easy Paisa and kept its payment receipt for the record. Fee/cash should not be handed over to any person, in case of any consequences, the applicant is held responsible.

2. Equivalence Certificates

Applicants having foreign degrees/certificates/A-Level/O-Level are required to provide equivalence certificates and conversion of the grades, into marks from Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC) or Higher Education Commission, Islamabad.

3. Admission based on Credit transfer/Course exemption

1. The applicants who are seeking admission on the basis of credit transfer/course exemption shall fill out the online course exemption Proforma and attach requisite documents. For detail visit https://www.vu.edu.pk/Admissions/TransferStudents.aspx
2. The cases of credit transfer/ courses exemption will be presented to the Equivalence Committee of the University for decision.  Then, the decision of the Equivalence Committee will be communicated to applicants via email.
3. Admission will be processed after the confirmation by the applicant.

4. Admission through BS Entry Route

1. The applicants having 14 years of qualification e.g. BA/B.Sc./B.Com, Associate Degree may apply for admission through Entry Route. However, such applicants shall meet the prescribed admission eligibility criteria of the BS Program.
2. The respective Academic Department will evaluate applicants’ exemptions based on the previous 14 years of qualification.

5. Biological Sciences Programs

1. The list of successful candidates (merit list) will be published on the website based on the merit calculation formula published on the website given under each program.
2. Biological Sciences Programs are only available within Pakistan.

6. Admission Test & Interview for MSCS

1. Admission tests will be held on-campus followed by an interview.
2. The list of successful candidates (merit) will be published on the website.
3. The successful candidate will deposit the fee within the due date published in the Admission Schedule – Fall 2022.
4. The program is only available within Pakistan.

7. VU Students

Only Virtual University Result awaiting students enrolled in Zero Semester, Associate Degree Program, Diploma, BS program, or Master Program may apply for subsequent program admission, however, their admission will be confirmed upon result declaration and mark pass out.

8. Overseas Pakistani / Foreign or Dual National Students

1. Overseas Pakistani students residing abroad may apply for admission through the online admission link/portal. After successful submission, the Admission Form will be dispatched in hard copy through postal/course services to the Admission Office, the Virtual University of Pakistan, Lahore for further processing and confirmation of admission.

2. Foreign or Dual National students may apply for admission through the online link and submit their admission application forms along with Higher Education Commission (HEC) prescribed sheet. Admission will be processed after necessary codal formalities/ confirmation from the respective offices (HEC, vetting agencies).

Note:

• Result awaiting applicants are not eligible to apply for admission.
• To avoid any inconvenience the candidates are required to upload all the required documents in the Online Admission Portal/Form within the due date.
• Admission Forms received after the due date will not be accepted. 
• Incomplete Admission Forms will be rejected, so carefully upload and dispatch readable complete sets of documents to avoid any inconvenience.
• BS Psychology program is not available for an overseas applicants.
