Keeping in view financial difficulties, the University has decided to give relaxation to students by extending due date of December’2020 installment voucher which has been extended till December 21, 2020. This will apply to those students who have made 5 installments of Fall'2020 semester dues (2 installments were due on December 4, 2020).
Students having 3 installments of Semester Dues for Fall'2020 will pay the dues as per given schedule.

LMS Service Outage
We regret the recent outage of our LMS service which was impacted due to certain externally generated non-genuine traffic. The ICT teams worked diligently to identify and mitigate the issue in order to normalize our services. Inconvenience caused is highly regretted. Please check with your respective course instructors for any rescheduling in your semester activities.
Students are informed that a full semester voucher for Fall, 2020 semester has been issued. Students may convert full semester voucher into installments through their LMS login, procedure is as under:

o, Go to “Account book”.
o, Click on the "Convert to Installments" option against the full semester voucher and make installments as admissible.

A meeting of the Board of Governors of Virtual University was held with the President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi. The board members updated the President about the progress of Virtual University and its achievements and how VU is disseminating quality education to the masses in Pakistan. VU also has executed DigiSkills Training Project and the target of one million enrollments was achieved ahead of time and now it has been extended further to have a skilled workforce.
The President appreciated Virtual University for providing quality education to the masses across Pakistan and abroad. He lauded the facilities provided by VU to its students and its convenience to study at anytime, anywhere. He told the board members that the Government is having a keen interest in promoting education. He praised the role of VU for providing quality education even during the lockdown due to covid-19. He mentioned, “we cannot ignore the importance of E-Learning as the whole world has faced lockdowns and moved towards digitalization.”
In the end, the President, Dr. Arif Alvi assured his support to Virtual University and stated that the future belongs to the Virtual System of Education and he is very much concerned to remove all the hindrances in this mode of education. The virtual model of education will enhance the capacity, numbers, and practical knowledge of students belonging to all phases/classes of society. He specifically called FA/FSc. students to get engage with Virtual Education.
Federal Minister for Information Technology (IT) & Telecom, Syed Ameen Ul Haq paid a visit to Virtual University of Pakistan, Kala Shah Kaku, Campus, and reviewed the construction progress of the Genomic Center in November 9, 2020. On this occasion, to pursue the Prime Minister’s vision of Green Pakistan, the Federal Minister planted a sapling under the plantation activity of Virtual University. He also inaugurated the new Learning Management System of VU at Virtual University, M.A Jinnah Campus, Lahore.

The Federal Minister appreciated the work progress of the Genomic Center at VU, KSK Campus. He also appreciated Virtual University for providing quality education to the masses across Pakistan and abroad. He lauded the facilities provided by VU to its students and its convenience to study at anytime, anywhere. He said that the current government has an acute interest in promoting education through E-Learning and Digital Pakistan is the dream of Prime Minister, Imran Khan. The Ministry of IT and Telecom is facilitating all such initiatives which support the vision of Digital Pakistan.
The Ministry of IT and Telecom along with Virtual University is working on all those projects that will create employment opportunities in the country. VU has executed the DigiSkills Training Project in a very effective manner and achieved the target of 1 Million enrollments ahead of time.
Recently, a meeting of higher management of VU was held with the President of Pakistan on VU e-learning mode of education and how VU can help educational institutions in the domain of e-learning. He said that the Ministry is trying to move Pakistan forward in the field of education through the provision of IT skills. Although we have limitations due to a low budget in the education sector however, efforts are being made to increase the current percentage of the budget up to 10% of the country’s GDP. We have a huge portion of the young population in the country and we are trying to equip them with the latest knowledge and skills so a well-educated and skill-based young workforce will contribute towards the country's progress which will lead us towards prosperity.
Our goal is to create a skilled workforce in the country. He appreciated VU’s model of education and its affordable fee structure. Women make up 54% of the country's population. Efforts are being made to increase the role of women in the workforce of the country.
He also visited Virtual University, M.A Jinnah Campus (Head Office), and inaugurated the newly launched “Learning Management System” for VU students. In the end, a visit to the VU TV Department was made where a briefing about the TV Department was given.
