The Department of Computer Science & Information Technology, Virtual University of Pakistan has arranged an online "One Day Symposium on How Data Can Help in Reshaping Academic, Social & Economic Practices after Covid-19 Pandemic" on 19th June 2020. Renowned speakers from Canada, USA, Germany, and Pakistan will join the event.
Social Distancing, Stay-at-Home, and closing of the borders are a few activities that on the one hand have helped in slowing the COVID-19 pandemic but on the other hand, have affected the academic, social, and economic conditions of individuals, societies, and countries at worst. As per estimates 195 million jobs are already affected or at stake. In this ever-worst pandemic, Data Science and its applications provide us a window of opportunity to deal with it and overcome its impact.
