Job Description
Job ObjectiveDatabase Administrator
will be responsible to design, install, monitor, maintain, and performance-tune
production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability.
Responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing corporate database
standards & policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and
availability of databases and accompanying software.
Key Responsibilities The job responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

- Implement
& configure database instances, clustering, mirroring, replication,
backup and partitions on Windows and Linux platforms.
- Maintain
day-to-day operations of the production and test databases including
writing complex queries to support daily operations.
- Monitor
and performance tune databases for optimal efficiency.
- Plan,
coordinate and implement security measures and maintain data standards to
safeguard information against accidental or unauthorized damage,
modification or disclosure.
- Provide
database support to internal development team.
- Write
and maintain database documentation, including data standards, procedures
and definitions for the data dictionary.
Skills
- Should
have excellent time management abilities, problem-solving and
communication skills
- Ability
to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
- Should
be a good team player, willing to learn and share information
Duration and Nature of Previous ExperienceHave a minimum of five years experience of maintaining large databases. Prior work experience in a banking environment would be a big plus though not a mandatory requirement
