Due to some unavoidable technical issues, the University's real-time fee collection system through Telenor EasyPaisa and FINCA (Omni Dukan's) is inaccessible. Students / Candidates seeking admission are advised to deposit University’s dues ONLY through the following channels, in order to secure admission within due time.

Dear Students!

It is announced that Higher Education Commission has decided to issue remaining/ leftover laptops from the Prime Minister’s National Laptop Scheme (PMNLS) Phase 4 & 5 to selected DIFFERENTLY ABLED/ PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED STUDENTS only, (who are currently enrolled at the Virtual University of Pakistan in their respective degree programs), without any merit consideration. 

According to students' record available with the university each student has been allocated a nearby Vu campus as a collection point of the laptop.   Students are advised to wait for an invitation e-mail from University Focal Person and/ or telephone call from a respective VU Campus before proceeding for the collection of their assets.

In case the collection the point mentioned in the list below does not suit a student then he/ she should inform via e-mail to m.ateeq@vu.edu.pk

The list of collection points are as follows, there is no possibility of designating an additional collection point, under any circumstances:

Beware that laptops will be awarded to the students without any initial deposit or payment in any form.  All laptops distributed via this scheme are absolutely free of cost. Furthermore, these laptops are not transferable.

Virtual University of Pakistan (VUP) and Institute of Chartered Accountancy of Pakistan (ICAP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the committee room of the Ministry of IT & Telecom on Wednesday.  

The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Federal Secretary MoITT Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui. Dr. Faisal Tehseen Shah, Controller Examination VU, and Syed Masood Akhtar, Secretary ICAP signed the MoU.

At the MoU signing ceremony, Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul Haque sent his congratulation message to  Rector, Virtual University on achieving yet another milestone. He said that the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication is doing its best to digitalize every educational activity through Virtual University. 

Federal Secretary, MoITT Shoaib Ahmad Siddique praised Virtual University for its continuous efforts to uplift the educational standards in every aspect. He said that VU has extreme potential to discover new horizons and we want VU to collaborate with more organizations to switch every institution on the digital platforms. 

While briefing about MoU, Rector Virtual University  Naeem Tariq said that IT has revolutionized our educational sphere, it's the need of the hour that we must implement the latest ICT-based technologies in every educational activity. 

President ICAP Iftikhar Taj said that according to the MoU, Virtual University will conduct ICAP’s Assessment of Fundamental Competencies (AFC) exam at its campuses across Pakistan, keeping a strict check and balance on transparency and COVID-19 SOPs.

Newly appointed Rector of VU, Prof. Dr. Arshad Saleem Bhatti, President ICAP  Iftikhar Taj, Vice President ICAP Ashfaq Yousuf Tola, distinguished guests from ICAP, VU, and senior officers of MOITT attended the ceremony.

Welcome to the New Rector Prof. Dr. Arshad Saleem Bhatti


Today is the start of a new chapter in the history of the Virtual University of Pakistan as the new Rector, Prof. Dr. Arshad Saleem Bhatti has joined the University.  

Prof. Arshad Saleem Bhatti obtained his first degree in Physics from the University of the Punjab, Lahore. He then completed one year of training in Computer Hardware and Software from the Computer Training Center, University Grants Commission by winning President Scholarship. He joined the University of Punjab as Lecturer in 1989 and proceeded to the United Kingdom for higher education. He obtained his M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Cambridge, the UK in Microelectronics and Optoelectronics. He did Post Doctoral work at the University of Roma in Italy, the University of Nottingham, UK, and the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, USA.  He has supervised 14 Ph.D. students, more than 50 MS students. He has published more than 130 research articles in ISI indexed journals and International Conferences. His cumulative impact factor is more than 275 and has more than 1200 citations. His research achievements include four US Patents granted. He has delivered many lectures in local and international conferences and at several institutions.

He also has e-Education Experience and has developed online Video Lectures and web-based courses for the MIT BLOSSOMS project, ISESCO, and virtual laboratory. He has been a Regular Associate and Senior Associate of the International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Trieste Italy from 1997 to 2015. His last assignment was as the Dean of Faculty of Science in COMSATS University, Islamabad, where he developed a laboratory for Micro and Nano Devices. His research interests encompass materials science, nanostructures, optoelectronics, and low-temperature physics.

Dr. Arshad Saleem Bhatti has been awarded Tamgha-i-Imtiaz in 2012 and  Sitara-i-Imtiaz in 2020.



Blocking of VU-LMS Accounts

The University has blocked LMS accounts of all those students who have payable dues. Students with blocked accounts will not be able to view Fall'2020 (Final Term) results and make course selections for the Spring'2021 semester. It is therefore advised to clear outstanding dues at the earliest and get LMS accounts unblocked.


Attention TIMERGARAH (NTMG01) Students March 2021

 

Due to some serious irregularities found at the NTMG01 center, University has decided to Cancel the Fall 2020 Final Term Examinations conducted between February 27, 2021, to March 10, 2021. The papers conducted at NTMG01 between the above period will be considered Null and Void.  

The Re-Examination will start on March 15, 2021.

The new schedule has been updated and available on the date sheet interface. The affected students are advised to take a fresh print of their Exam Entrance Slip from the following link:

Announcement -- Blocking of VU-LMS Accounts March 2021



 It is informed that LMS accounts of all such students who have not paid their outstanding dues shall be blocked on March 16, 2021. Students with blocked accounts will not be able to view Fall’2020 (final-term) results and carry out other academic activities. It is therefore advised to clear all outstanding dues at the earliest, in order to avoid any inconvenience.

VU Tuition Fee Concession

 Tuition Fee Concession for Spouses / Children of Shuhada of Armed Forces / Law Enforcement Agencies.

In order to recognize the sacrifices of Shuhada and to support their families, Virtual University is offering tuition fee concession for Spouses / Children of Shuhada of Armed Forces / Law Enforcement Agencies on submission of formal recommendations duly issued / signed by an authorized officer of respective department / agency subject to following conditions;

  1. The concession in tuition fee will be applicable on all offered certificates / diploma / degree programs of the University.
  2. Tuition fee concession will be granted under said policy on merit basis.
  3. Tuition fee concession shall be valid for one semester only.
  4. In order to remain eligible in subsequent semester (s), student must meet minimum criteria of VU Need Based Scholarship rules (“Rules” herein called “Students Scholarship Regulations; 2015”). Link is copied below for reference:

  1. Concession will be allowed to spouse and unemployed children of Shaheed.
  2. Security fee and all other dues (if any) will be charged at prescribed rates of the University.

This is to inform you that 11th Convocation Lahore, which was scheduled to be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021, has been postponed in view of the growing COVID-19 outbreak in Lahore and the National Command and Control Center (NCOC) decisions were taken in today’s meeting.

 

The new date for the 11th Convocation LAHORE will be intimated in due course of time.

 

The inconvenience caused is regretted.

 


[Updated] Fall 2020 Final Term Examinations: Attention AKMP01 Students

 

 

Due to the growing no. of reported COVID-19 cases in District Mirpur, Azad Jammu, and Kashmir (AJK), a lockdown has been imposed by the District Administration in Mirpur.

Keeping above in view, the University has decided to postpone its ongoing examinations scheduled between March 01, 2021 to March 08 2021 at AKMP01(Savant College) center.

The examinations at other designated centers will remain to continue as per defined schedule.

The new schedule of affected AKMP01 students will be announced in due course of time. Affected students are advised to keep visiting the LMS noticeboard and check their VU email regularly for further updates.

11th Convocation (Lahore) is planned to be held on Saturday, March 13,2021 at 9:30 am at Virtual University of Pakistan, Head Office, M.A Jinnah Campus, Defence Road, Off Raiwind Road, Lahore (Google Map Location)

Request for Rescheduling of Missed/Unplanned paper(s) on or before March 15, 2021 – Fall 2020 Final Term Examinations


A student may request for rescheduling of Missed/Unplanned paper(s) on or before Monday, March 15, 2021. No request will be entertained after the specified date. The rescheduling rules may be accessible through the following link:

NOTE:

  1. The re-schedule chance shall be provided only once.
  2. Rescheduling the fee is non-refundable in any case irrespective of his/her appearance in rescheduled paper(s).
  3. The rescheduled paper(s) for both local and overseas students shall be conducted as per the following schedule: 

Date of Rescheduled Exam: Wednesday, March 17, 2021

  1. Fee voucher(s) of prescribed the fee shall be payable before the announcement of result.
  2. A maximum of six (06) papers can be rescheduled in the Fall 2020 Final Term Examinations.

Procedure:  

  1. Login to VULMS
  2. Open VULMS-->Student Services-->Examinations Department--> Apply for Rescheduling of Papers.
    (The missed paper(s) will be available for rescheduling after 24 hours of actual paper time)
  3. Select The Preferred City of Appearance from the drop-down list.
    (Overseas Students shall select Preferred City as “Overseas”).
  4. Submit Request.
  5. Once your request is duly processed, a confirmation email will be sent on your VU email address (Please check Inbox/Spam/Junk-Email) from no-reply@vu.edu.pk.
     (University requires at least 24-48 hours for processing your request).
  6. Now, you must take a fresh print of your Exam Entrance slip from http://datesheet.vu.edu.pk
