Blocking of LMS Accounts

The University has blocked LMS accounts of all those students who have payable dues. Students with blocked accounts will not be able to view Spring – 2018 (Mid-term) result and carry out academic activities. It is therefore advised to clear outstanding dues at the earliest and get LMS accounts unblocked.

It has been observed that students are taking active part in academic activities without clearance of outstanding dues.
It is therefore informed that LMS accounts of all such students who have not paid their outstanding dues shall be blocked on July 27, 2018. Students with blocked accounts will not be able to make date sheet for spring – 2018 final term exams and carry out academic activities. It is therefore advised to clear all outstanding dues at the earliest, in order to avoid any inconvenience.



VU Lab on Wheels: A Step towards Quality Science Education

Virtual University of Pakistan has developed a mobile science laboratory-the first mobile lab for students in the country that will give hands-on experience to students in research of bio-sciences and technology. VU Lab on Wheels will provide equal wet lab facilities for practical sessions to all students at their doorstep. Beside this initiative, practical sessions of life science studies are being performed at Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Karachi and Peshawar.
Students who live in far flung areas where none of the University established labs are accessible will now be able to benefit from Mobile Lab. This mobile laboratory is accompanied by the trained staff and equipped with all necessary instrumentations required for practical training of ongoing degree programs in Faculty of Science & Technology.
Virtual University of Pakistan provides an excellent opportunity to the life science professionals across the country to excel in their fields by continuing their education through distance learning. Educationalists have praised the VU’s mission to encourage the excitement of scientific discoveries and skill development for the students of far flung and economically disadvantaged areas.
Lab on Wheels is a wonderful example of research platform, serving the community by stimulating curiosity and encouraging hands-on learning across the country.


Issuance of Fee Voucher (2nd Installment) to Zero Semester Students (Spring, 2018)

Zero Semester students are informed that the University has issued tuition fee voucher (2ndinstallment) for Spring, 2018 semester to enrolled students with due date July 20, 2018.




Virtual University signs Agreement with NTC

Virtual University of Pakistan (VU) signed an Agreement with National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) on Wednesday, July 04, 2018. The agreement was signed by Mr. Naeem Tariq, Director Finance, VU and Engr. Miraj Gul, Director General Technical, NTC in a ceremony held at NTC Headquarter Islamabad. 

As part of the agreement, NTC will establish secure and efficient Internet Bandwidth connectivity services for VU owned campuses across the country. By virtue of this agreement, all internet traffic will be transmitted through Fiber Optic Backbone of NTC and VU sites will be connected through fiber optic cable. Both organizations will develop strategic cooperation through technological infrastructure, and resource sharing.

Engr. Haider Murtaza, Director, Data Comm. from NTC and Engr. Syed Naushad Y. Shah, Dy. Network Executive from VU were the focal personnel for the execution of this legal agreement. 

Besides officials of both institutions, Dr. Syed Abdul Majid, Registrar VU, Dr. Masroor Elahi Babar, Dean Faculty of Science & Technology and Dr. Muhammad Mohsin Javed, Director DQE were also present.

Pakistani Scottish Scholarship 2018

British Council in collaboration with the Scottish Government first launched this scheme in 2013 with the aim of promoting higher education amongst Pakistani women.  The Scottish Scholarship Scheme caters to women from financially disadvantaged backgrounds pursuing their master’s degrees and helps them achieve their educational ambitions. These scholarships no longer have an age limit and are offered to female students enrolled in master’s programmes in the fields of education, agriculture and food security, sustainable energy, health sciences, and Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) engineering, all areas that are highly relevant to Pakistan in terms of current challenges and future opportunities.
Administered directly by the British Council, this scholarship will facilitate award-holders with the following incentives:
  • Tuition fees for master’s courses
  • University hostel costs
  • Subsistence to the award holder
  • Travel to and from home to university three times a year for students staying in on-campus hostels
