Ufone logo low Ufone Announces Internship Program for 2013Following the success of its Summer Internship Program (SIP) 2012, Ufone is now re-launching the similar internship program for 2013.
Ufone’s Summer Internship Program for 2013 will commence in April at national level with campus drives being held across the country during which students will have to take a test and give an interview for final selection.
The campus drives will be held in all major universities in cities including Islamabad, Sawabi, Lahore and Karachi.
Individuals have to be students of Bachelor’s program (6th or 7th semester) or students of Master’s program; possessing a minimum CGPA of 2.5 or above and currently not employed in any company with no more than 3-6 months of work experience.
The Summer Internship Program provides a unique and rare opportunity to the talented youth of Pakistan to work in a professional and dynamic setting. The program builds on the success from industry best practices, while adding a little bit of the Ufone flair to the mix. Interns selected through this program will get exposure to real-time projects for a period of 6-8 weeks.
The main objective of this program is to introduce selected students to the emerging technology trends, while developing their career scope in the thriving telecom sector. Final list of interns will be made after selecting top students through a battery of online tests, competency-based screening and panel interviews.
Speaking about the scheme Syed Zulfiqar Ali Zaidi, General Manager Human Resources said, “The Summer Internship Program is all about identifying and nurturing talent. Several of our previous interns have been placed in full time employment at Ufone after the completion of their internships and degree programs in roles within the finance, commercial and technical divisions. This ties in with our business philosophy i.e. when we say ‘it’s all about U’ we actually mean it. Be it our valued customers, our committed staff or our prospective employees, we realize that their growth and satisfaction is critical for us to grow as a Company.”
An entire system of intern management has been set-up within Ufone to not only guide and groom these interns but also to identify high-potential individuals who can be considered for employment within the Company after completion of Summer Internship Program.
The internship program has been carefully designed to ensure that students are provided with high-impact; hands-on training and skill development to further their careers. RF KPI Analysis, Mobile Financial Services and the Mass Market Segment, Social Networking and Online Profile Management, and Process Automation for PMO are some of the areas where the interns will get a chance to work in.
Ufone is among the few companies in the country which has one of the largest internship footprints in Pakistan. Aside from their functional development, the Summer Internship Program also ensures students work very closely with their supervisors who take a mentoring role throughout the relationship.
